Elaine Sihera

Champion of diversity and inclusion, Elaine Sihera is an award-winning educator who has dedicated her extensive career to empowering others. A writer and consultant, Elaine’s voice for the Black community spans multiple platforms and has allowed her to initiate progressive change in both the public and private sector.

From a challenging upbringing to publishing four books on emotional health and the strength of inclusion, Elaine transformed her fate through education and resilience, and how supports others in replicating her winning mindset. Through her publications, like ‘Understanding Racism & Bias’ and ‘The New Theory of Confidence’ Elaine navigates the journey to self-belief and diversity understanding with readers, giving them the tools to learn and grow for a brighter future. Further proving her passion for representation, Elaine is also the founder of The British Diversity Awards and The Windrush Achievement Awards, which recognise the success of minority communities in their respective fields.

A seasoned speaker, Elaine is sought-after for her expertise, leading her to present the first Diversity Lecture in the House of Commons, speak at the UNESCO Global Women’s Leadership Conference and consult corporate clients. Known to discuss the benefits of diversity in professional and educational environments, Elaine’s unique understanding of emotional intelligence ensures her speaking engagements are a cut above the rest, with implementable strategies for bias reduction and improved diversity backed by first-hand experiences.

The first black graduate of the Open University, Elaine is now a Doctor at the same faculty, and has contributed to over 3000 articles as a columnist and Owner of New Impact, on the themes of confidence and inclusion for a rewarding life. With a Lifetime Achievement Award from Diversity UK and two National Training Awards from the Department of Trade and Industry, Elaine’s position as an empowerment specialist is undeniable.
