Tracey Neville

England’s former netball head coach, Tracey Neville is a legendary figure in British netball leading the team to several historic achievements. Top of this list is the gold medal that she led her England team to at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia. The first time England had ever achieved such a feat, this win elevated Tracey into being regarded as the greatest coach in British netball history. After success in domestic netball, Tracey was given the honour of coaching her country in 2015. Before the Commonwealth Games, Tracey led the team to three consecutive European Netball Championships. But the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast was the holy grail with the team defeating big favourites Australia by just one point in the final. Unsurprisingly, Tracey’s life has been dominated by sport. Her parents both held administrative roles in local football club Bury FC and both her brothers became professional footballers for Manchester United and England. Before becoming an exceptional coach Tracey was a successful netball player. Over the course of her career, she represented Northern Thunder, Leeds Carnegie and Australian side Adelaide Thunderbirds as well as playing for her country on 81 occasions. During this time, she also earned a bronze medal with the England netball team at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur.
