Tom Daley

Tom Daley is a hugely successful British diver turned television personality. Over the course of his sporting career, Tom has won a whole host of medals at some of the biggest events in the world. This includes three World Championship golds, four European Championship golds, four Commonwealth goals and two Olympic bronze medals. As well as his sporting highlights, Tom has also become a well-known television personality and influencer with his own successful YouTube channel. Also, a proud advocate for the LGBT+ community, he is one of the most inspirational virtual speakers out there able to discuss a variety of topics with audiences.

A plethora of medals has gone Tom’s way since he first broke onto the scene at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. In total, he’s won 11 gold medals across the Commonwealth Games and World and European Championships as well as earning two bronze medals at the Olympics. Undoubtedly one of Tom’s career highlights came in 2012. With the Olympic Games taking place in London it offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform in front of a home crowd. Achieving a bronze medal in the 10m platform, was a huge moment in the young man’s career catapulting him to fame. On the back of this success, he became a popular TV personality taking on a mentor role on the diving reality show Splash!

From a young age, Tom was committed to becoming a diving superstar. In his hometown of Plymouth, he’d head to the swimming pool before and after school to practice and this dedication soon paid off. In 2007 he began to compete in international events despite being just 13 years old. A year later he became one of Britain’s youngest ever Olympians when he competed at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. He claimed Gold at the Rio Games and then received an OBE in 2022. During his virtual speaking events Tom can discuss what it was like entering the world of sport at such a young age, and the pressures he felt to succeed.

Now, Tom is one of the UK’s most recognisable characters. Still active in the sporting arena, he has also become a popular social media influencer with his YouTube channel reaching more than 900k subscribers and 100 million views. Tom uses the channel to log many aspects of his professional and personal life including his coming out story, his marriage to partner Dustin, and the birth of his child. An advocate for the LGBT+ community he is a regular at Pride events up and down the country and at his inspirational virtual speaking events is able to discuss his own journey with sexuality.
