At dunnhumby, he headed analytics for Tesco and its partners, helping to shape the modern use of customer data in retail. He then became Chief Data Scientist at MoneySuperMarket, driving insight-led innovation in online financial services, before joining Aviva as Group Chief Data Scientist, where he transformed how one of the world’s oldest insurers understood and served its customers.
In 2021, Orlando joined The LEGO Group as its first Chief Data Officer, designing and launching its global Data Office. He established a centre of excellence for data science and AI, creating new ways for the company to unlock value from data while protecting the privacy of its young users. His leadership helped LEGO use predictive models and machine learning responsibly across operations, marketing and customer experience. Alongside this, he has held senior governance roles including Non-Executive Director at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, Global Advisory Board Member at Endava, and Senior Advisor to Electrify Video Partners.
