Mel Giedroyc is one of the UK’s best-loved television presenters and personalities. Best known for hosting The Great British Bake Off alongside her regular co-presenter Sue Perkins, Mel has also fronted her own chat show, Mel and Sue, appeared on comedy show Taskmaster and presented music talent show Let it Shine. Her fantastic sense of humour, comedy timing and likeable personality makes her the perfect choice of speaker for every virtual event as she is able to convey the same level of enthusiasm and high energy from behind a screen as she does in person.
At University Mel met fellow presenter and comic Sue Perkins with the pair forging a formidable friendship since the start. After appearing together at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe they went on to host lunchtime comedy show Light Lunch with their dynamic hosting style and great on-screen chemistry going down a hit with audiences.
From here Mel went on to appear on a number of shows both alongside Sue and as a solo presenter. These include Eurovision: You Decide, Let’s Sing and Dance for Comic Relief, Children in Need and Taskmaster. But, undoubtedly the pair’s biggest hit was the Great British Bake Off. For six years Mel and Sue fronted the show as it transformed from a small baking competition to one of the biggest shows in the country. Much of its success can be put down to their comedic, and innuendo-filled presenting style as the nation’s best bakers came together to compete for the ultimate prize. In recent years Mel has continued to delight audiences by hosting the revamped Generation Game, Let It Shine and Hitmen.
As a virtual speaker, Mel is able to discuss a range of topics in her own affable style. This includes entertaining audiences with a number of anecdotes from her glittering TV career providing a sense of fun at every turn. Someone is well versed at bringing her A-game in front of the camera, she’s taken to virtual speaking like a duck to water and her engaging personality is sure to keep audiences entertained.
