Mark Watson is a highly entertaining comedian, who has performed across the country on some of the best-known stages in the comedy industry. He is a regular performer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and has also performed internationally at the Melbourne Comedy Festival. Mark has also forged a reputation as a tv personality, formerly appearing on comedy panel shows such as Mock The Week and Have I Got News For You? A recipient of the Time Out Critic’s Choice Award in 2006 and a nominee for Best Newcomer at the Perrier Comedy Awards, Mark is a popular comedian perfect for a range of events.

For most of his life, Mark has been entertaining in some form. Whilst he was studying at university, he joined the Cambridge University Dramatic Club otherwise known as Footlights. Here he performed amateur dramatics alongside future stars such as Dan Stevens. Since 1999 Mark has been performing as a comedian and has become a recognisable face across various UK comedy festivals. Some of his best-known comedy shows include the titles of 50 Years Before Death and the Awful Prospect of Eternity, All the Thoughts I’ve Had Since I Was Born and Can I Briefly Talk to you About Life?

Outside of performing stand-up comedy sketches, Mark is also a popular guest for television and an avid novelist. Previously Mark has authored books such as Bullet Points, Hotel Alpha, The Place That Didn’t Exist, Crap at the Environment, Eleven, The Knot and A Light-hearted Look at Murder. He has also appeared as the presenter of Mark Watson Makes the World Substantially Better on radio, presented the NME Awards and been a feature of Magner Cider adverts. Other television show appearances include Nevermind the Buzzcocks, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Taskmaster, Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls and The Mad Bad Ad Show.
