A former Olympian who won countless swimming medals over the course of his career, Mark Foster is a six-time gold medallist at the World Championships and two-time gold medallist at the Commonwealth Games. In 2017 Mark made headlines when, at the age of 47, he came out as gay. This move saw him begin an icon in the LGBT+ community and in his capacity as a virtual speaker he can talk to audiences everywhere giving his views on diversity and inclusion.

Mark burst onto the swimming scene in the early 90s and it wasn’t long until he was representing his country in some of the biggest swimming competitions in the world. Over the course of his career, he was named World champion, European champion, and Commonwealth champion making his mark as one of Britain’s most popular athletes. He also represented Team GB at the Olympics even carrying the flag at the opening ceremony in Beijing in 2008.

This information of Mark Foster was taken from Mark’s keynote speaker agent.

On top of Mark’s prowess in the pool, he has also become a popular television personality appearing on a variety of programmes. This included competing on Strictly Come Dancing in 2012 and he also appeared on Let’s Dance for Sport Relief, Celebrity Juice, and The Million Pound Drop. As well as this he has regularly appeared on the BBC as a pundit and commentator during high-profile swimming events.

In 2017 Mark publicly came out as gay. Having struggled with his sexuality for most of his life this marked a big step for the star. An incredibly inspirational figure that transcends sport, during his virtual speaking events he is able to discuss these struggles while empowering his audiences to be themselves.

Mark’s work as a virtual speaker has given him the capacity to reach audiences everywhere with his fantastic speeches. Whether he is talking about diversity and inclusion or the decades he spent at the very top of his sport, Mark always proves to be a big hit.

Official Testimonials

Mark Foster is regularly booked to engage audiences at virtual events, read their latest feedback below:

“I’d like to thank Mark for his massive contribution to our event. He was a total hit with the audience and is scoring 10/10 in our post event survey! From my perspective, he encapsulated the brief perfectly and got all the messages I needed out to the team in a really compelling but down to earth way. His style was relaxed but he had everyone hooked from the start, right through to the end. The Q&A was a real highlight and I really appreciate him addressing the many questions from the floor in such an encouraging way. Inspirational! Mark was open, warm, friendly and extremely polite to everyone he met on the night and very accommodating to the many ‘selfie’ requests. Genuinely a lovely human being! Everyone was still talking about Mark the next day which shows the deep impact he had on the team and I’m sure this will encourage them to test themselves ‘beyond limits’ in the future.”

“Mark was a speaker at Leicester Tigers for a game that we played against London Welsh. With over 300 people in the room, Mark used different techniques to keep everyone engaged and interested in what he was saying. With mostly businessmen and sports fans in the room, Mark was able to conduct himself in a manner that suited both parties and children. Mark’s experience in life after sport was extremely interesting and our 1st team players took this in as something they need to start thinking about as well. The interactivity that Mark had with our guests was exceptional and spent over an hour signing autographs and having photos and it was a pleasure to host him and have him as our guest speaker.”

Emily Anthony, Leicester Tigers

“I just wanted to drop you a brief line about our evening with Mark. You were absolutely right to recommend him to us and thank you for that. It was a great evening enjoyed by everyone who turned up and who have taken great delight in regaling all of those members who didn’t, with how good it was. His talk was just right for the guests as proven by the quantity of questions asked in the time after he had finished speaking—they would have gone on for far longer if we hadn’t put a stop to it! His delivery is so casual which went down really well with the audience. Apparently the golf club has rarely if ever, attracted as many guests to any fee paying function as far back as anyone can remember. You have set the bar very high for the next time I call you up!!”

Paul Flello, Buckingham Golf Club

“Everything went to plan and we want to thank you so much for your help. Mark Foster was excellent and we shall be back next year for another sporting champion!!”
