Katie Piper is widely known for the horrific acid attack that she fell victim to, leaving her with horrific acidic burns on her face and she also went blind in one eye. After undergoing a series of pioneering treatments on her burns and reconstruction on her face, Katie works tirelessly to bring awareness to the harsh realities of burn victims. She has appeared on several television programmes sharing her story and has even featured in her own documentary titled Katie: My Beautiful Face. Katie is also a published author, having written Beautiful, Things Get Better: If You Believe Then You Will Survive, Start Your Day With Katie and Beautiful Ever After.

Upon leaving school, Katie was destined for a career as a beautician and model. Passionate about beauty and fashion, Katie modelled for various different brands and fashion campaigns. She also appeared at events such as martial arts tournaments where she acted as a ring-card girl and dabbled in web-television presenting. It was through her work in martial arts that Katie met Daniel Lynch, who would, unfortunately, go on to orchestrate the planning of the acid attack that Katie fell victim to in 2008. Katie underwent several pioneering surgeries to treat her burns, using new medical equipment such as Matriderm.

Today, Katie works to provide support and raise awareness for those who have suffered burns. On a mission to provide this support, Katie is the founder of the Katie Piper Foundation, pushing for the life-changing treatments that she received to be more readily available to all patients. In 2022 her work was rewarded as she received an OBE. Katie has become quite the celebrity too, going on to appear on shows such as Strictly Come Dancing, Katie: My Beautiful Friends, BBC Breakfast, This Morning, Loose Women, Celebrity Deal Or No Deal, Never Seen a Doctor and as a featured presenter on Songs Of Praise.

Katie has built a strong following of supporters during her recovery, and today is frequently seen as a public speaker performing at a range of virtual events. She covers a variety of topics from recovery and overcoming adversity to burn victim awareness, happiness and body confidence. A true inspiration to all, Katie is a perfect choice to motivate online audiences to overcome challenges and adversity. Previously, she has spoken at events such as the vInspired National Awards and the BritMums Live and has also been awarded the Women to Watch: Inspiration Award and the You Can Award for her bravery. “Katie’s keynote at BritMums Live 2013 was one of the highlights of the conference. ‘Beautiful’, ‘Strong’ and ‘Inspiring’ were some of the comments from the 550 attendees. We had expected that she would be a good speaker; we discovered she’s a great one. She spoke frankly about what had happened to her and how she navigated dark times to find her current path. She lit up the room with her energy and passion and, best of all, left us with a feeling of empowerment as well as ideas on how to help others through her foundation”

BritMums Live 2013

“Katie was an amazing host at the vInsipired National Awards 2013. She was professional, relaxed and connected brilliantly with our audience of young people- they couldn’t wait to get their pictures taken with her after the event! We’ve had lovely feedback since, with guests delighted by the warm and positive feeling she gave to the event. Thank you Katie!”

vInspired National Awards 2013

“I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Katie. She spoke with inspiration, authenticity, truth, and confidence. Her story is undeniably unbelievable and her positivity and words of wisdom will stay with me for my entire life. I’ve tried to think of my favourite moment, but in honestly I don’t have one as it was all outstanding. Despite us being on Zoom, she delivered such a powerful session and I can honestly say if we were in a room together, you would have been able to hear a pin drop in the audience- we hung on her every word. Interviewing Katie has no doubt been the highlight of my career, and her message of positivity and self believe came at such a pertinent moment. We can’t thank her enough.”
