An inspiring speaker and media sensation, JJ Chalmers has led a life unlike any other. He served as a Royal Marine Commando, where he fought on the front lines under oppressive heat and relentless enemy fire. While deployed to Afghanistan, he was severely injured by an IED (improvised explosive device), leaving him fighting for his life. After years of rehabilitation, JJ carved a career in media and public speaking. He now shares his inspiring story of determination with virtual audiences, leaving them empowered.

In 2011, JJ’s life changed forever. While working as a Royal Marine Commando in Afghanistan, serving with the 42 Commando, he was caught in an IED explosion, which left him with devastating facial and bodily injuries. During five years of rehabilitation, and over 25 operations, his mind and body grew stronger, which allowed JJ to re-enter normal life. He left his serving career behind, and ventured into the world of media, competing and public speaking.

JJ competed in the Invictus Games in 2014, where he earned two Bronze and one Gold medal, for his first-place finish in the road cycling discipline. He was later invited back to present the 2017 Toronto Invictus Games, and as an ambassador in 2016. Having established himself as an inspiring representation of sport, JJ also presented the Paralympics, World Athletics Indoor Championships and Commonwealth Games. When booked for virtual events, this experienced presenter creates an authentic connection with viewers, to make a genuine impact.

Aside from his sports presenting roles, JJ is also a popular celebrity personality. He took part in Strictly Come Dancing 2020 and has worked with The One Show, BBC Breakfast and BBC Radio. From The People Remember to Remembrance of the Cenotaph, JJ is also regularly called upon to commemorate fallen soldiers, appearing as the embodiment of bravery. He supplies a similar sentiment at events. Booked to teach mental resilience, audiences are inspired by JJ’s story of determination in the face of tragedy.
