Jimmy Carr

Jimmy Carr is a renowned comedian, best known for his dark and controversial style of jokes. Throughout his time as a comedian, Jimmy has performed 11 UK and world tours and has won countless awards. He has been the recipient of the LAFTA Awards Funniest man, LAFTA Awards Best Stand Up, British Comedy Awards Best Live Stand Up and the Royal Television Society Awards Best On-Screen Newcomer. Jimmy is also known for hosting a number of comedy television panel game shows, including the likes of 8 Out of 10 Cats, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Have I Got News For You? and QI.

After studying at Gonville and Caius College in the disciplines of political science and social science, Jimmy began work as a marketer at Shell. After leaving Shell, Jimmy followed his passion and talent for stand-up comedy, performing in pubs to build his fan base. Before long Jimmy began to be hired for paid stand-up performances, building his reputation for dark yet hilarious comedy. By 2004 Jimmy began work as a television presenter, joining Comedy Central as the presenter of Distraction. In 2005 he began presenting 8 Out of 10 Cats, and various other presenting roles have followed.

During his career, Jimmy has been fortunate to present various comedy programmes across British television. He has presented the likes of Your Face or Mine?, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, The Friday Night Project, Commercial Breakdown, A Comedy Roast and The Big Fat Quiz of the Year. He has also made guest appearances on shows such as Top Gear, Deal or No Deal, The Chase and The Last Leg. Jimmy has also spent time as a guest and interviewer for radio stations, such as the Loose Ends BBC Radio 4 show and It’s Been a Terrible Year for BBC Radio 2.

Having performed at some of the countries biggest venues and at events such as the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, Jimmy Carr is a hilarious comedian who has tirelessly entertained audiences since the 2000s. Internationally successful, Jimmy is revered for his unique dark-humour that makes fun of things such as politics, celebrities and current affairs. A seasoned performer with a huge fan base, Jimmy is able to deliver his entertaining comedy virtually as a performer for online events.
