Henry Ajder is a leading voice on generative AI, deepfakes and synthetic media. A globally recognised advisor, broadcaster and researcher, he helps organisations, policymakers and the public understand how artificial intelligence is transforming communication, creativity and trust. His calm, accessible style and sharp insight have made him one of the world’s most in-demand virtual keynote speakers on AI ethics, innovation and digital integrity.
Henry began his career studying philosophy at the University of Warwick and the University of Cambridge, specialising in perception and AI ethics. He soon recognised the social implications of synthetic content and joined the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he led the project ‘Just Joking: Deepfakes, Satire, and the Politics of Synthetic Media’. He went on to become Head of Research & Threat Intelligence at Sensity AI, the world’s first deepfake detection company, where he authored the landmark report ‘The State of Deepfakes’ in 2019. This study became the first global analysis of the technology’s real-world impact and shaped legislation, media policy and security strategies across sectors.
Building on that foundation, Henry was appointed Head of Policy & Partnerships at Metaphysic AI, the company behind the viral ‘DeepTomCruise’ videos, where he launched Synthetic Futures, the first cross-industry initiative promoting ethical generative AI. He later founded Latent Space Advisory, a consultancy helping global brands and governments navigate AI’s evolving frontier, offering strategic guidance on regulation, risk and innovation. Henry has since served as AI Luminary Advisor for EY, AI Advisor for Meta’s Reality Labs, and Strategic Advisor to Synthesia, Adobe, and the UK Home Office. His thought leadership extends into global policy circles, where he contributes to the World Economic Forum’s AI Transformation Initiative, OECD.AI, and the Partnership on AI.
As a broadcaster, Henry presented the BBC documentary series ‘The Future Will Be Synthesised’, exploring the cultural, ethical and political impact of the generative revolution. He is also a Visiting Senior Researcher at Jesus College, University of Cambridge, and co-creator of the university’s ‘Generative AI in Business’ programme. Named a LinkedIn Top Voice in AI and recognised as a Generative AI Power Player by the Financial Times, Henry continues to appear across major media outlets including CNN, Bloomberg and The New York Times. As a virtual keynote speaker, he captivates audiences by demystifying AI’s complexities and revealing its potential for creativity, safety and progress in the digital age.
