Best known as a business magnate and entrepreneur, Lord Alan Sugar is the founder of Amstrad, Amsprop and Viglen Ltd. His companies provide services across the sectors of aviation, property investment, information technology, exporting and wholesaling. Alan is also predominantly known for being the pivotal character of the BBC show The Apprentice, and for being the former part-owner and chairman of Tottenham Hotspur football club.

Before the heights of fame, Alan lived with his family in a council flat and worked at a greengrocer. When he was just 16 years old Alan took the leap and left education, channelling his entrepreneurial spirit and setting up shop selling radio aerials and electrical goods. By 1963 Alan had built his knowledge of sales and business and established his first company Amstrad- Alan Michael Sugar Trading.

With The Apprentice still airing today, having first burst onto the screens of the BBC back in 2005, Alan is still a prominent feature on television today. He has since featured on Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?, Lord Sugar Tackles Football, Doctor Who and Eastenders for Children In Need. Today he acts as the chairman of Amscreen, his son’s company specialising in digital signage.
