Shamash Alidina is a mindfulness teacher, international best-selling author, and one of the most recognised voices in the field of mental wellbeing. Known for his playful and compassionate approach, he delivers science-based tools to help people live calmer, more purposeful lives. As the author of Mindfulness for Dummies, Shamash has brought mindfulness to a global audience in a practical, engaging way. With over 150,000 books sold and a loyal online following, he is widely considered one of the leading figures in making mindfulness both accessible and enjoyable. Today, he speaks at events around the world – both in person and virtually – on how mindfulness, kindness and acceptance can transform not just individual lives, but workplaces and wider communities.

Shamash originally studied Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London, but his journey took a sharp turn when he discovered mindfulness at the School of Practical Philosophy. Inspired by the impact it had on his own life, he left a career in science to become a full-time educator, later working as the Head of Physics at St. Catherine’s School and Senior Manager at St. James Independent Boys’ School. His passion for wellbeing eventually led him to leave teaching altogether and follow his true calling: helping people understand the mind and live more consciously. In 2010, he founded London Mindfulness and Meditation, followed by Learn Mindfulness, where he continues to deliver highly-rated online teacher training programmes.

Over the past decade, Shamash has trained nearly 500 mindfulness teachers around the world through his digital platform, and has become a pioneer of accessible, virtual mindfulness education. He is also the Co-Founder of the Museum of Happiness, the Founder and CEO of Happier World Conference, and the CEO of Teach Mindfulness Online. His teaching style combines humour, science, spirituality and lived experience  – making even complex ideas feel human and actionable. He holds certifications in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Tiny Habits®, and breathwork, and has studied under mindfulness leaders including Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ajahn Brahm, and teachers at Bangor University’s Centre for Mindfulness.

As a speaker, Shamash is regularly invited to deliver keynotes, workshops and webinars for global audiences – from Fortune 500 companies to grassroots wellbeing events. He has spoken for the Happiness & Its Causes Conference in Sydney and trained teams at organisations such as Barclays, JP Morgan, Allianz, Louis Vuitton and more. Whether he’s guiding a boardroom through mindful breathing or helping educators support students’ mental health, Shamash’s sessions are always warm, insightful and grounded in practical tools that make a lasting difference.
