Jake and Hannah Graf are a transgender couple who have pioneered their sectors as transgender individuals. Hannah was a former member of the British Army, making her fame as the highest-ranking transgender soldier in the Army and the Army’s Transgender Representative. Jake is an award-winning writer, actor and director best known for featuring in films such as The Danish Girl, Headspace and Colette. Together they are known for delivering a range of captivating keynote speeches, which they now deliver virtually, discussing topics surrounding LGBT+ communities, diversity and inclusion.
Before becoming a couple Jake and Hannah went through great changes in their life, transitioning genders to find their true identities. Hannah transitioned from male to female back in 2013 during service in the Army and has since become well known for mentoring and advising other transgender members of the Armed Services. Jake transitioned from female to male back in 2008, since acting as an ambassador for the British LGBT+ Awards and has advocated for a positive representation of the LGBT+ community.
After seeing the positive effect that other transgender people had on their transitions, the couple has made it their mission to ensure that the world is a more inclusive place for other transgender individuals. Since leaving service, Hannah has acted as an Ambassador for LGBT Sport Cymru and as a judge for the British LGBT Awards, as well as being sought to speak on programmes such as Lorraine, The Victoria Derbyshire Show, The One Show and Good Morning Britain. Her husband Jake has also pioneered the future for transgender individuals, writing, directing and starring in the film XWHY to present positive representations of trans people. Jake has written for top publications worldwide, including the likes of The Evening Standard, BOYZ and Gay Star News.
The pair have won countless awards, such as British LGBT Awards, Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Awards and recognition in lists such as the OUT100 list, Pride Power list and LGBT Power list. As keynote speakers the pair are sought to bring representation to the transgender and LGBT communities, covering topics such as LGBT relationships, inclusion and support in the workplace.
